Validate entered PubMed ID and display details about the article

Description

When user entered PubMed ID (on click-away event), provide a validation service using API https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/tools/get-metadata/:
https://eutils.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/eutils/efetch.fcgi?db=pubmed&id=[PUBMED ID] or
https://eutils.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/eutils/esummary.fcgi?db=pubmed&retmode=json&id=[PUBMED ID]

If PubMed ID is valid, the validated article meta info is shown under the input field.
If not, a validation red warning text is shown under the input filed: "Entered PubMed ID is invalid"

Validated info can include following article meta-data:

  • Journal name, date published, volume, issue #, pages

  • PMID and DOI

  • Article name

  • Authors

In future there is a possibility to provide a suggest service using suggest PAI
